What you will do

This guide shows how to open an issue, move it to another team, and keep its history, comments, and links intact. When you finish, the change is saved in Linear and you can confirm it without leaving the screen you ended on.

Steps at a glance

  1. 01Open the issue
  2. 02Open the context menu
  3. 03Select Move to team
  4. 04Choose the destination team and status
  5. 05Confirm and check the new identifier

Notes and limitations

The issue identifier changes with the team. Existing links redirect, but an identifier someone typed into a document by hand will not update.
